I can think a few benefits to taking a nice warm bath:

  • Taking a bath can elevate your mood.
  • A bath in the evening can help you to sleep better.
  • A very warm bath can helot ease muscle ache.
  • Baths can help to keep your heart healthy.
  • Takinga bath withburnsome calories.
  • Baths can help relieve cold and flu symptoms.
  • The warm water can help to soothe irritated skin.
  • A bath will help to calm and relax you.
  • You will undoubtedly smell nicer after a good soak.

For many of these reasons a lot of people like to have a bath before they attend a treatment appointment. But is it ok to take a bath after treatment?

The answer is, of course! You can take a bath anytime that you feel the need, its unlikely to do you any harm and the benefits will be felt regardless of activities undertaken before the bath.

For extra musculoskeletal benefit consider adding epsom salts to your bath. Epsom salts break down into magnesium and sulphate in water and the theory is that magnesium (an essential mineral for normal neurological and muscle function) is easily absorbable through the skin.
